The Asheville area was spared the really heavy snow:
Heavier snow fell in central North Carolina (as seen in this picture from Salisbury). Coastal North Carolina had some of the heaviest snowfall: It was quite a sight to see snow on the beach at Wrightsville Beach (picture 1, picture 3, picture 4, picture 5, picture 6), Cape Hatteras, and Oak Island (before, after)!
